Meet the K18
The K18 was another obvious plane to make – a size up from the K13. After spending so much time compressing the design to work with smaller planes, it was fun to expand out. I use mine as a small jointing plane – long enough to level most of the edges I work, but not so massive that it feels heavy or like overkill. It is a little over a pound lighter than a similar length panel plane given it’s more squat stance and curved sides. The goal was to make a jointing plane that still felt nimble.
