Meet the KS Shoulder
Another friend and customer loved the new direction of the k-series, and after receiving a K9, K13 and K18, asked if I had considered rethinking the shoulder plane. I am sure he could hear me smile over the phone. After the KS-1.5 prototype was completed, he asked if I could make a set of five KS shoulder planes in ¼” increments – fully scaled in both width and overall size. It was a beautiful design challenge. Up until this point, shoulder planes were just varied in width - the length and height remained the same. The largest shoulder plane is 1-1/2” wide and 8-1/4” long, and the smallest is ½” wide and 6-1/2” long.
